Legend

It seemed like a normal day on Sunday, November 2nd, 1970 in the town of Caldwell, NJ when an incident occurred that would change the town forever. In the late morning the police received a call about a strange substance for hanging above the home at 85 Forest Ave. Believing it to be pranksters or some fishing line caught in a tree the officers headed down to the home only to be perplexed by the site they saw. Atop the house of Mr. and Mrs. Smith was a thin, clear and ridged line hanging from an origin point thousands of feet in the air. The line traveled so high that its starting point couldn’t be seen.

Spectators grew in the hundreds as the police attempted to find the beginning of the line; traveling to nearby Hilltop Reservation in hopes of finding an explanation. At the home, young boys cast fishing lines at the Caldwell mystery threading hoping to bring it down. Over the next month the line stayed high in the sky until a few teens were finally able to snag the thread. They pulled for about a ten minutes until the thread gave way. Over the next half hour they pulled and pulled until they had thousands of yards of the strange material. The line was taken to a nearby DuPont chemical facility for analysis only to come back empty handed. The strange material which had a hollow core was unknown and never seen before, although it was later said to be closely related to nylon.

Over the years hundreds of other occurrences have been reported across the country without any explanation. Interestingly enough the phenomena correlates with the concept of “angel hair” which has been reported around various sightings of UFO’s. On the other hand, the material may have been “chaff”, which is a radar countermeasure in which aircraft/ balloon or other targets spread a cloud of small, thin pieces of aluminium, glass fiber or plastic, which either appears as a cluster of primary targets on radar screens or swamps the screen with multiple return. Could this fiber be related to the cold war, and if so, whose radar were they trying to throw off? Was the thread pat of a bigger plot by the government or a secret society? What was really going on in Caldwell?

This is happening right now at my home. It appears to be high in the air and shines where the sun hits it. It seems to go on forever with no ending. What do i do about it? Should i call someone?
